Yacob Pumpkin Marathon (Part 2)

After a lovely 2 hour nap, part 2 of our pumpkin marathon continued. We decided not to wait in the long line at the farm to purchase pumpkins and pick up a few at a church down the road from our house. I think Layla liked having the place to herself to touch every pumpkin and gourd on display before the rush of customers came. She had a ball collecting mini pumpkins and was very serious about her work. Layla also had a chance to practice her counting. She says two numbers over and over again, "one and two". Good counting, Layla!
Letting loose as a big pumpkin!
Layla did not want any part of pumpkin carving. Ewww!
She chose to paint instead. We took this picture about 5 times and kept missing her big smile. The darn blinking red light on the camera bothered her sensitive eyes. Big surprise.
Our patio spotlight was hurting her eyes. This was the solution...

Ta-da! As a family, we light our pumpkins right before bedtime.

More pictures of our day can be found here.
