Pout-Pout Girl

Faven checking out the flashing lights as Layla huffs and puffs.
Faven got a cool new red bike for her second birthday, right!?  Faven was very happy about it and Layla was, too...at first. Layla appeared super excited for her sister until she realized she didn't have a big girl bike of her own. This unhappy reaction took about 60 seconds to emerge for all to see.

We have been shopping around for bikes for several week and debating whether we should  get them for Christmas (or now). Great Aunt Kiddie (Joey's Aunt) offered to buy the girls bikes because she had hopes to keep a special family tradition alive. Kiddie gave Joey bikes growing up and wanted to do the same for Layla and Faven, too!

We decided to give Kiddie the "OK" to get both girls bikes sooner than later so they could take advantage of a few weeks of riding in paradise. The weather has been perfect - 70s degrees with constant sunshine (a lovely time to move back East- not so much).

We picked up Faven's bike the day before her 2nd birthday. After seeing disappointment oozing out of Layla's lil bod as she watched her sister ride (scoot), we picked up a bike for her that night and surprised her with it the next day!
Oozing disappointment.
Can't hide her jealousy here.

TWO HAPPY GIRLS ON BIG GIRL BIKES!

Layla rides her bike at least once a day. Faven however, takes it easy and plops herself in an umbrella stroller lately. We've had the best time riding around our neighborhood and taking quick trips to the park and around the lake and back!

Thanks Aunt Kiddie!
