Layla's baptism was at an Ethiopian Church in Columbus, OH. There are a variety of things that make a baptism different in an Ethiopian church compared to a traditional orthodox church. I won't bore you with all the details, but to give you an idea we got an early start as the ceremony started 6am and the service and mass lasted until 1030am. This was a long service for even an adult, but Layla, the trooper she is, made it through with little complaint. Layla's baptism outfit was specially made in Ethiopia and brought by her grandma. After the baptism we had a special made lunch, courtesy of Auntie Kiddy, and a delicious cake that we all enjoyed.
